About Catch the Breeze

The Sykes family has been letting holiday properties since the 1970s. It’s fair to say; it’s in our blood. Our experience owning, managing and even cleaning holiday properties led to the family founding and running another successful national holiday home letting agency that still bears our family name.

Today, Catch the Breeze is about pulling on all that experience to offer something incredibly special. We understand the importance of holidays in the UK. And that it’s something that requires a lot of hard work to get just right. We know this because we’re no different. Every year the Sykes family look forward to staying in holiday cottages and the unique experience that each stay brings. We have a genuine understanding of what makes a holiday special, of what creates that all-important sense of belonging and satisfaction that makes you feel: I could live like this.

What our guests say

Fabulous accommodation in the middle of the very picturesque village of Craster.

Beautifully decorated throughout and ideal for 3 couples sharing as everyone has their own en-suite and personal space. We especially loved the large kitchen/diner and the upstairs snug - with the added bonus of the outside terrace too!

All in all I have no hesitation in recommending this property and we will definitely return!

Special thank you also to Tara who looked after us so attentively throughout our stay, thank you.

Simply Stunning!

The house is stunning and the views amazing! Perfectly placed in the village of Craster, a five minute walk to all amenities and the local pub which serves a delicious Sunday lunch.

The beds are very comfortable and everything you need to make your stay pleasant is provided plus a lovely welcome hamper. The customer service is excellent, we can't wait to stay again and quite frankly we were sad to leave.

Wonderful coastal retreat in the wilds of Northumberland

Second stay at this superb location. Blessed by the best weather Northumberland has experienced in a long time. Just love the sound of the waves breaking on the rocky shore and the numbers sightings of dolphins during the week. What more can you want...idyllic!

Just perfect

In over 40 years of self catering holidays I have never stayed in a better property than this. Fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality and so much thought has gone into providing anything you might possibly need for your holiday. The location, overlooking the harbour, is the best in the village. Recommended unreservedly. One cautionary note - parking two cars in the available space is a challenge.

Stunning house

Had a lovely stay with friends. House is beautiful and very well located with views of the harbour. So nice to have super king beds in all rooms and they were really comfortable.

We appreciated the parking spaces for cars which was very generous, especially as we both had 4x4s.

This is our second visit to Craster having stayed at Middlerigg previously. Both properties are lovely but this is now our favourite!

The walks from Craster are great in both directions and it is so easy to visit Bamburgh, Alnwick and a but further away Cragside, plus trips to the Farne Islands.

Can recommend The Jolly Fisherman in Craster for great food, and just a short stroll home!!

Thanks to all at Catch the Breeze for another wonderful stay.
