About Catch the Breeze

The Sykes family has been letting holiday properties since the 1970s. It’s fair to say; it’s in our blood. Our experience owning, managing and even cleaning holiday properties led to the family founding and running another successful national holiday home letting agency that still bears our family name.

Today, Catch the Breeze is about pulling on all that experience to offer something incredibly special. We understand the importance of holidays in the UK. And that it’s something that requires a lot of hard work to get just right. We know this because we’re no different. Every year the Sykes family look forward to staying in holiday cottages and the unique experience that each stay brings. We have a genuine understanding of what makes a holiday special, of what creates that all-important sense of belonging and satisfaction that makes you feel: I could live like this.

What our guests say

Amazing Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the Reading Rooms this is our 3rd stay this year at a Catch the Breeze property.

They are all finished to an amazing standard.

We could not recommend them highly enough. We will be back very soon.

Excellent as always

Third visit to this fabulous property in a fabulous location. Given the North Sea decided to blow a gale, the house is a really warm and comfortable retreat after being battered outside in winter. 5-stars as always and already wanting to return! Only negative (and I’m only joking and one which will be a blessing for some) is the cuckoo in the kitchen clock has stopped chirping every hour!

Craster Middlerigg 2026

We have stayed in 5 places in Craster over the years and Middlerigg is by far and away the best by a long chalk. Brilliantly equipped with quality furnishings and equipment, perfectly located with great harbour and coastline views and 44 steps to the Jolly Fisherman for a relaxing pint watching the sea in the evening. I would highly recommend but don’t want other people to know about it in case we can’t book our preferred return dates!!! (We have already booked actually)!
