Properties

A personal portfolio of holiday properties owned and managed by us – the Sykes family – our exclusive collection has been carefully curated and refined over the last 15 years.

Our properties have been handpicked based on several standout factors, such as stunning locations, amazing views, and beautiful, quirky buildings. We’ve called upon decades of experience to restore, modernise and furnish each property with integrity and sympathetic materials. Every property embraces an appreciation of the landscape, history and community that surrounds it.

What our guests say

Catch the Breeze continues to live up to expectations

Harbour Way is not our first choice for our holiday accommodation but was accepted because a dog was permitted. The house has character and has been sympathetically modernised and fitted out to the very high standards that is the signature of Catch the Breeze's portfolio of holiday accommodation. Tara and Beth are brilliant at ensuring everything attended to prior to arrival ensuring that you are made to feel welcome as a valued guest.

Exceptional property in a wonderful location.

Middlerigg is beautifully decorated and furnished and very well equipped. There is lots of space and everything you could need for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday - even the local pub, which does great food, only a few steps away. We appreciated the generous Welcome Pack too. Waking up each morning to the view over the bay to Dunstanburgh Castle was a real delight and on warmer days eating out on the terrace was wonderful.

The parking space is adequate for two cars (we had one large car and one smaller hatchback) but would be tight for two larger vehicles. Overall a brilliant property where we had a lovely holiday.

Mrs Lomas

We have just returned from the most brilliant stay in Middlerigg with our 3 children aged 10, 8 & 8. The property is beautiful appointed and the recently refurbished decor has been completed to a very high standard. The house also benefits from the best view in the village! We loved our stay here so much, as did our children so we've already booked again for next year.

Probably best cottage in Craster

Craster location on the Northumberland coast is ideal for getting to know the area. Harbourway has a brilliant location in the village with views of the Harbour. Just set back far enough from the road so passers by cannot disturb you, the village is so quiet at night you can hear the sea.

The property was a wonderful flow to it, with an extremely well thought out interior. The beds are as comfy as home with good linens and pillows too. The cosy wood burner in the living area is addictive, giving that extra ambiance. Even the ornaments and art work in the property are desirable. The kitchen is well equipped and the ice maker I will miss (I never knew I wanted one).

It will be hard to find another property as all round great as this. If you want luxury, for you and your friends, this is your place.

Fantastic in every way!

Wonderful location overlooking the harbour but extremely private and quiet. The house is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is the best we've ever seen and everything you may need has been thoughtfully provided, even treats and toys for our 2 little dogs. Absolutely wonderful beaches nearby and loads on interesting places to visit. Our favourites were Cragside and Lindisfarne. The local pub, The Jolly Fisherman, may seem expensive but the food is really good. I'd go in the evening when it is less busy. The wood fired pizzas at Embers up the road are also well worth trying. The walk to Dunstanburgh Castle has to be one of the best in the country. Northumberland is a brilliant place to visit and you'd be hard pushed to find better, more luxurious accommodation than Harbourway.
