What our guests say

Outstanding Cottage in the heart of Craster

I spent weeks researching Northumberland coastal retreats so let me save you some time, book Driftwood! It is simply outstanding.

Firstly Craster is an idyllic seaside village perfectly located to explore the area, with amazing walks on your doorstep and The Jolly Fisherman pub is divine. One of our requisites is private parking and the cottage has two good spaces.

Driftwood is beautifully decorated with the highest quality furnishings and appliances. The cottage has everything you need, the kitchen is especially well equipped. We were unfortunately not blessed with the weather so we made good use of the woodburner and the cottage was such a sanctuary after very wet and windy trips out. I loved sitting in the window seat watching the huge waves crashing against the harbour wall.

I highly recommend Driftwood and Catch the Breeze retreats. Their attention to detail and customer care is exceptional.

Return to beautiful Craster

Craster never disappoints. With views of Dunstanburgh castle from outside and upstairs this small cottage is the perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy this stretch of coast. Ideally placed for walks north and south and a stones throw from the award winning Jolly Fisherman it offers everything you might need for your Northumbrian getaway.

Wonderful cottage in the Dales

Fabulous stay in this wonderful cottage. So comfortable, good quality linen and towels , plenty of hot water and the most comprehensively equipped kitchen I have encountered in a holiday rental for years.

The house was immaculately clean , with a good supply of logs for the wood burner.

Situated in a very quiet part of the Dales, with walking straight from the door, we couldn’t have asked for more and highly recommend.

Wonderful property in the most stunning of locations

Our third visit to Middlerigg - we simply love it.

We holiday in this country a lot and Middlerigg is in the perfect location. Craster is a lovely seaside village, perfect for visiting Northumberland. The ability to leave the house straight onto the Coastal Path, with idyllic walks in both directions is such a positive. We love sitting either on the terrace, in the kitchen/diner or the mezzanine and looking out to Dunstanburgh Castle.

The house is spacious, nicely decorated and very well equipped. Beds are comfy.

Catch the Breeze are efficient and communicate well.
