What our guests say

Fabulous Winter Break

We had an amazing 4 days at Rock Lobster which was in a fabulous location. The views of the shoreline and the sea from the kitchen room and the upstairs lounge were spectacular. Despite lots of rain and snow, we were totally warm and snug throughout the stay.

A perfect break for all the generations

The wild life we enjoyed seeing from the Mill varied and interesting. Immaculately clean, well stocked and a wonderful welcome pack. We have stayed there last year and the very high standard has been maintained, and we are looking forward to return in June.

One of the best holiday cottages in Craster

Having stayed here four times (fifth visit already booked) Harbourway is our home from home. Superbly located and very well equipped, this cottage is simply outstanding. A great deal of thought has gone into those extra little touches to make us feel comfortable, and our dog is well catered for too! Thank you and congratulations Catch the Breeze.

Beautiful cottage

Harbourway is a beautiful cottage. My family and I really enjoyed our stay there. An advantage for us was the amount of space for our family of 3 households. Of a person almost 70, I found having a downstairs bedroom a real asset, as was the number of bathrooms for us all. The only real downside for me and anyone with downside for me and anyone with mobility issues, was the slope between the gate and the front door, plus the slope and steps towards my car.

Absolute Perfection in Craster – A Spectacular Stay at Middlerigg!

We recently had the most incredible stay at Middlerigg, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are looking for the perfect location in Northumberland, this is it. The house boasts a beautiful patio at the front where you can sit with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, taking in the stunning views of the sea, the harbour, and the walkers heading up to Dunstanburgh Castle. Parking is famously tricky in Craster, so the fact that the house comes with two parking spaces large enough for two large cars is a massive bonus!

Inside, the house is absolutely perfect and immaculately clean. It features three good-sized double bedrooms, all complete with their own en-suites, and the cotton bedding was incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and well-stocked, and we were thrilled to find a lovely gift basket filled with local goodies waiting for us upon arrival. A major highlight for our family was what our girls affectionately dubbed the "secret living room"—a beautiful space where you can sit and watch the sea from the cosy comfort of the house.

If you need to stay connected, the Wi-Fi is brilliant. My husband had to work for a few days during our stay, and he said the connection was just as good as we have back home in the city centre. For downtime, there were plenty of board games to choose from, as well as a Smart TV, which was a lifesaver for catching the all-important football match. Just a stone's throw away from the house is The Jolly Fisherman, which is an absolute must for drinks in the beer garden overlooking the sea.

Middlerigg is incredibly well-situated for exploring the wider area. Craster makes an ideal base, offering easy access northwards to Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, and Lindisfarne, and southwards towards Alnmouth and Amble. It’s also only half an hour from the brilliant Cragside (National Trust), which is a fantastic day out.

Communication with Catch the Breeze was exceptional from start to finish. They sent a highly helpful information sheet beforehand, and the property itself was stocked with a fantastic guest information folder.

We will 100% be returning and are currently looking at dates for next summer. Thank you for a truly lovely stay!
