About Catch the Breeze

The Sykes family has been letting holiday properties since the 1970s. It’s fair to say; it’s in our blood. Our experience owning, managing and even cleaning holiday properties led to the family founding and running another successful national holiday home letting agency that still bears our family name.

Today, Catch the Breeze is about pulling on all that experience to offer something incredibly special. We understand the importance of holidays in the UK. And that it’s something that requires a lot of hard work to get just right. We know this because we’re no different. Every year the Sykes family look forward to staying in holiday cottages and the unique experience that each stay brings. We have a genuine understanding of what makes a holiday special, of what creates that all-important sense of belonging and satisfaction that makes you feel: I could live like this.

What our guests say

So good, we re-booked on our second day

We have stayed in many self-catering properties before, but this was without doubt the best. Comfortable, warm, clean and with absolutely everything you could possibly need. From a well equipped kitchen, to soft bath sheets and comfortable beds and furniture, we could not fault Middlerigg.

Personal touches were welcome as well. A variety of things in a welcome pack - butter, bread, milk, biscuits etc. And a couple of visits from Claire to check everything was OK was very reassuring.

And then there is the view - across the harbour to Dunstanburgh Castle and out to sea. We could sit all day watching the comings and goings and the rhythm of the village. Not to mention the Jolly Fisherman pub, Robinson's Kippery and shop and the Shoreline Cafe all just around the corner.

Perfect Cottage

We have stayed in Craster several times, but Driftwood was by far the best and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely stunning

Mill Farmhouse is a stunning “no expense spared” holiday home. It’s a really comfortable house, the bedrooms are large with super beds and modern, spotless en suites. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook a family meal although dining out in the area is excellent.

The location of Mill Farmhouse is idyllic, standing in a large rural plot it’s a lovely place to totally relax and enjoy the local wildlife and watch the birds. A five minute stroll across the adjoining fields takes you to a beautiful sandy beach or on to the coastal path leading to Beadnell bay in about 20 mins, and Low Newton and Craster if you want to stretch your legs.

We would totally recommend this amazing 5 star property - we have already booked our next visit

Perfect Craster Break

Our walking group stayed for 3 nights. The house location and facilities are excellent and access to the coastal path is through the garden gate. Both the local pubs do excellent food and at the house it was easy to cater for our large party. We managed to use the twin dishwashers!!

Idyllic Luxury in the heart of the Dales

We had the most wonderful stay, a beautiful home which was hard to leave, but when we did the property is perfectly located to get to experience the beauty that is The Dales.

The fact we could walk outside and be on the Dales Way was beautiful.

We took our Labrador and the property as well as the surroundings were just perfect for a week away with the dog.

Ben was brilliant and checked in to make sure we had what we need. The welcome hamper for us and the dog were such lovely touches.

The most comfortable bed!

Did not want to leave, we will be finding more of the properties to stay in across the UK.

Can not recommend enough!!
